Ronson plans City hotel
GERALD RONSON, the billionaire and head property group of Heron International, has submitted plans to build a five-star hotel and more than 100 luxury apartments in the heart of the City of London as part of a large £500m project.
The plans will see a five-star hotel run by Four Seasons and 120 luxury flats, fully serviced by the hotel, which are expected to be among the most expensive in London.
The site of the scheme, on Bishopsgate opposite Liverpool Street station, is next to Ronson’s Heron Tower skyscraper, which is under construction. Heron is backed by a number of wealthy US investors such as Larry Ellison, the Oracle chief, Michael Milken and Steve Wynn.
“The City has very little residences and there is no prime five-star hotel. It is a prime location with new vibrancy,” Ronson told the Financial Times.
