Premier League: City hoping for Reds’ collapse
MANCHESTER CITY 3 WEST BROMWICH ALBION 1
MANCHESTER City boss Manuel Pellegrini hopes victory in their final four matches can cause league leaders Liverpool to buckle under pressure.
First-half goals from Pablo Zabaleta, Sergio Aguero and Martin Demichelis cancelled out Graham Dorrans’ sublime strike for struggling West Brom and moved City six points off the top having played a game less than Chelsea and Brendan Rodgers’ in-form Reds.
Pellegrini said: “We always talk with the players that if Liverpool win their last three games and win 14 in a row they will win the league.
“Our duty is to win our games and make Liverpool feel the pressure. The finish to a season is always difficult.”
