    DIVING: Britain’s Tom Daley won bronze on the final day of the Divind World Series in Beijing, yesterday. Daley’s 10-metre dives were beaten by Cao Yuan and Bo Qui, performing in front of their home crowd. Tonia Couch also claimed bronze in the 10-metre platform for Britain, while compatriot Sarah Barrow came fourth.

    CRICKET: Australia fast bowler Mitchell Johnson has been ruled out of the Twenty20 World Cup in Bangladesh after failing to recover from an infected toe. The tournament began yesterday with the hosts comfortably beating Afghanistan by nine wickets, while Nepal beat Hong Kong by 80 runs, bowling their opponents out for just 69 runs.
