French PM wins confidence vote
FRENCH Prime Minister Manuel Valls yesterday won a confidence vote in parliament after left wing politicians rebelled against his new cabinet.
Valls vowed to maintain the country’s social model while pushing through pro-market reforms to try to inject some life into the stagnant economy.
He won the vote by a margin of 269 deputies to 244.
French President Hollande swept to power on promises to boost the economy, but has failed so far.
