Eros in Bollywood boost
Indian movie distributor Eros International said its full-year profit rose, boosted by the box office success of Bollywood films “Dabangg” (Dauntless) and “Housefull”. The company, which recently listed its unit Eros International Media on the Bombay Stock Exchange in India, also gave a positive outlook for the year ahead. Eros boasts of a strong slate of movies that include “Rockstar”, with actor Ranbir Kapoor. Pre-tax profit was up $55.8m (£33.8m) for the year ended 31 March, compared with last year’s $49.5m. Revenue rose 10 per cent to $164.6m.
