Dragon chooses to call UK home
WITH UK firms like King choosing the US market to list, and Sir Richard Branson leaving the rainy British weather to take up residency on Necker Island, it’s refreshing to see a native Californian heading in the opposite direction.
Tech entrepreneur Doug Richards – founder of School for Startups and former Dragons’ Den investor – will today be awarded British citizenship at a ceremony in Cambridge, where he now lives. Richards moved to the UK in 2001, and along with founding his school for entrepreneurship is also famous for being the only Dragon to decline every investment opportunity for an entire series of the show.
The Capitalist assumes his latest decision shows he was just waiting for the right opportunity.
