Cleaners turn cupid for singles on Valentine’s day. How Handy!
Valentine’s day is not a lot of fun for many time-poor singletons, but the helpful types at Handy, the app that lets you hire cleaners and DIY help, are turning cleaners into cupid – and all for charity.
The Book Bus, a charity that helps poor children to read, has teamed up with the app for the Love Your Shelf appeal.
Later this afternoon Handy users will be prompted to give a donation to the Book Bus. If they do, they will have opted into having their cleaner scour their bookshelves and see what books are most prevalent from a list of 10 common book categories. Each user will also have to answer a series of questions about themselves, and then can give their permission to be paired with a fellow user.
Being set up is always a scary experience, but at least this way you’ll know that not only does your Valentine’s day catch have similar taste in literature – but also a clean home to go back to as well.
As usual her place was packed with the great and the good from the world of economics, politics and the media. Robert Chote, chairman of the Office for Budget Responsibility, was there as was Gus O’Donnell, the man known as GOD, who served as the Cabinet Secretary between 2005 and 2011. The large turnout was a testament to Pryce, following her acrimonious falling out with the legal system and her former husband, ex Lib Dem MP Chris Huhne.
