Christmas cheer arriving at the Guildhall fayre
STUCK for Christmas present ideas? The British Red Cross Christmas Market, which takes place at the City’s iconic Guildhall tonight and tomorrow, might be the perfect place to get started.
Tonight is a preview evening from 5.30pm with an exclusive champagne reception, but tickets are already in short supply.
Tomorrow, the doors open from 10.30am to the public with Princess Michael of Kent making an appearance to sign copies of her new novel, The Queen of Four Kingdoms.
There will be more than 100 stalls selling a wide range of merchandise, some of which will be sourced from the City’s livery companies, including the Weavers.
From jewellery, fashion and food to more unusual gifts such as Bear Grylls survival courses, the Christmas market is set to satisfy all holiday shoppers.
Other highlights include a designer boutique where you can pick up designer labels at high-street prices, free chocolate tasting and a massage stand.
The event also marks the start of a silent auction with attractive prizes that organisers hope will supplement record takings at the fair itself.
There’s an African adventure for two or a tour of the Houses of Parliament and much more on offer.
Entry is £5 with all proceeds going to help the Red Cross.
