Chinese export growth disappoints
Chinese export growth disappointed all expectations in November, throwing cold water on the chance it was on the way out of its slowdown. Chinese exports grew by only 2.9 per cent year-on-year in November, against expectations of nine per cent, and down from 11.6 per cent growth in October. It represents the worst performance since August. This cast a shadow over strong data out on Sunday, which had inspired hopes of a return to rapid growth.
