RANGE ROVER’S POWERFUL GREENER CAR
Land Rover’s latest 3.0-litre SDV6 diesel Range Rover Sport has just been introduced with more power, reduced CO2 and improved fuel economy thanks, in part, to a new efficient 8-speed automatic gearbox. Engine power is increased from 245hp to 256hp whilst CO2 emissions are down from 243g/km to 230g/km. Combined fuel economy is now 32mpg. The car also comes with “Drive Select” rotary gear shift and a steering wheel-mounted paddle shift.
IN A FRENDZY
Renault has created a concept vehicle which is perfect for a family van-man. The Frendzy is an electric-powered van which doubles as a family car and is designed for hard work during the week (the car has a fabric roof so it can transport large, odd-shaped objects). At weekends it transforms into a family car with a big rear bench seat. Kids can even draw on a blackboard-like slate integrated into the rear sliding door.
RAISE THE (FUSCHIA) ROOF
In case you think that Citroën’s stylish DS3 isn’t attention-grabbing enough, Citroën is introducing a bunch of new colour choices twinned with a vibrant (i.e. loud) fuchsia pink roof colour. If shocking pink is your thing you can choose it for the door mirrors, wheel centre caps, dashboard fascia and even the gear lever knob. Customers can also specify a new Hickory Brown pearlescent body colour. Two new roof designs – called Flower and Flavio are also available.
