JAGUAR BEEFS UP THE 2012 XF
Jaguar has shown its new, revamped 2012 XF at the New York Auto Show. The car gets a new fresh look with slimmer headlights, a more powerful-looking bonnet and a larger, more upright grille. A new 2.2-litre, four-cylinder 188bhp diesel engine, capable of 0-60mph in a time of 8.0secs, 52.3mpg (combined) and CO2 emissions of 149g/km has also been introduced and should sell well among commuters.
VAUXHALL’S NEW VXR
This is Vauxhall’s latest hottest hatch, the new VXR Nürburgring Edition, which goes on sale at the end of May. A re-worked version of the Corsa VXR’s existing 1.6-litre turbocharged engine produces 205PS and is capable of 0-60mph in just 6.5 seconds and a top speed of 143mph. An uprated chassis means ride height has been reduced by 20mm.
