Broad a doubt for T20s after injury setback
ENGLAND’S Stuart Broad is an injury doubt for the two Twenty20 internationals against India next week after suffering a recurrence of a heel injury during a practice session.
The all-rounder is unlikely to be picked for the fourth and final Test starting in Nagpur tomorrow, but will find out the result of a scan this morning that will determine whether he will be fit enough to stay for the remainder of the pre-Christmas tour, which ends a week on Saturday.
Broad, 26, first suffered discomfort in his left heel in a warm-up match in Mumbai and was passed fit for the opening two Tests, but was replaced by Steven Finn for the third match after failing to take a wicket.
T20 vice-captain Eoin Morgan is likely to take the reins next week if Broad is sent home, though the Nottinghamshire man could return to action in January when England face India in a five-match one-day international series.
