THE WORLD’S fastest man Usain Bolt defied the Russian rain to win the sixth world title of his career last night.
The 26-year-old won the 100m final in a season’s best time of 9.77 seconds, with American Justin Gatlin and Bolt’s compatriot Nesta Carter clinching silver and bronze respectively in Moscow.
Meanwhile James Dasaolu, the only British sprinter to run a sub-10 second time in the last three years, finished last in 10.21 seconds.
Earlier in the day, Britain’s Shara Proctor finished sixth and outside of the medals in the long jump competition, registering a best effort of 6.79m.
