BlackBerry users see their handsets crawl back to life
BLACKBERRY users across the world saw their services crawl to life yesterday after three days of outages.
After facing criticism for failing to address users, many of whom had no access to data services, co-chief executive Mike Lazaridis profusely apologised for his company’s failures on the company’s web-site and on YouTube.
“I apologise for the service outages this week. We have let many of you down. It’s been my goal to provide reliable real time communications around the world. We did not deliver on that goal this week.”
The company declined to comment on whether it will be offering compensation. The outage is the latest blow to a company that has lost two thirds of its value in the last year.
