Barclays Wealth expressed concern over Oracle’s second-quarter results, after first quarter software sales came in below expectations on Wednesday. It said that sales of databases were weak in Europe and Asia as businesses continue to cut investment in projects. It added that management maintained its guidance.
OLD MUTUAL
While many insurance sector constituents have seen their respective share prices recover, Galvan Research believes that investors still seeking opportunity should look at Old Mutual as it plays catch up with the rest of the sector. News that the company will probably return to a dividend by year end, and recent strength in the stock markets underpin its buy recommendation.
TULLOW OIL
Prime CFDs put out a buy recommendation on Tullow Oil yesterday, saying that the group is currently on a roll, with both the oil & gas sectors awash with new finds, coupled with the growth potential of its own African prospects. Prime CFDs sees further strong upside for the shares, it said. The firm’s shares have been a rising since last October, it added.
