Bell set for Sri Lanka test
ENGLAND batsman Ian Bell is relishing the challenge of facing Sri Lanka in the quarter-finals of the World Cup and insists he and his teammates will battle through the fatigue in a bid to win the tournament.
India beat the West Indies yesterday to confirm that England would face the joint hosts in the knock-out stages before a possible meeting with either South Africa or New Zealand in the semi-finals.
Bell said: “We’re pretty excited about playing Sri Lanka in Sri Lanka.
“It will be a big challenge. But we’ve had success there in the recent past, and we hope we can do it again.
“The guys are desperate to win. We saw that in the last game against the West Indies, that even after a long winter the guys are desperate to keep progressing in this tournament. We can beat anyone on our day.”
