THOSE of you heading for a Friday night out at Sushi Samba later might want to take some provisions with you. Word comes to us that one City consultant got stuck in the lift at the restaurant for four hours last Friday evening. Stephen Pearce, whose consultancy Kennedy Pearce also has an office in Heron Tower was shocked to find himself trapped: “There were lots of fire engines but the lifts are so heavily secured, you can’t actually smash the glass to get out,” he told The Capitalist. “The restaurant was still open so we just watched all the people queuing to get in.” Heron Tower apologised for the inconvenience. “The lifts at Heron Tower are among the most sophisticated in the world and any issues with them are extremely rare,” a spokesperson told us. A little too sophisticated perhaps?
