WHERE TO GO
The Estonian History Museum celebrates all things Estonian from the mid 19th century onwards, including its often fraught geo-political situation and its jaunty fashion through the ages. ajaloomuuseum.ee/en
WHERE TO DRINK
This is a local bar for local people – a great, underground atmosphere with a slight edge of menace. If you want to drink in the “real” Tallinn (whatever that means), then you’re as likely to find it in Levist Väljas as anywhere else.

WHERE TO EAT
This thatched restaurant doesn’t just look the part – the food is authentic, traditional Estonian fare too. Altja kõrts is slightly off the tourist trail but worth finding.
