SHAREHOLDER VIEWS: WHAT SHOULD SAINSBURY'S DO DIFFERENTLY?

<strong>BERNIE FIELDING</strong><br />&ldquo;I think they could do more to boost the share price. Despite all the updates and improved trading, it still hasn&rsquo;t lifted the market value by much. Tesco and Morrisons have achieved that. I don&rsquo;t understand why Sainsbury&rsquo;s is lagging and I want answers.&rdquo;<br /><br /><strong>DIANA DENNIS</strong><br />&ldquo;I think under the current conditions Sainsbury&rsquo;s have done really well. In trading terms it&rsquo;s been outperforming the market, but the share price has dropped like all other companies. I think following the expansion plan Sainsbury&rsquo;s will be able to return even more of a profit.&rdquo;<br /><br /><strong>MARTIN BRACKNELL</strong><br />&ldquo;I&rsquo;m focused on Sainsbury&rsquo;s profitability. Tesco&rsquo;s achieved record profits. Sainsbury&rsquo;s has got to cut costs to increase its market capitalisation. Morrison&rsquo;s have had a boom also because they&rsquo;re able to sell cheaper food at cheaper prices. Sainsbury&rsquo;s needs to do more.
