Baker Botts
The law firm has appointed Mark Heaney as partner in its intellectual property group. He joins from Bird & Bird, where he was a partner and head of its international electronics sector group. Heaney specialises in contentious matters, and has a focus on patents, copyright, and related rights.
PwC
Lachlan Roos has been appointed UK hedge fund leader at the professional services firm. He is a partner in PwC’s financial services tax division and has been with the firm since 2005.
Morgan Stanley Investment Management
Greg Finck has been appointed managing director at the investment management firm, and will work as portfolio manager and head of the securitised team for its global fixed income platform. He joins from Fortress Investment Group, where he was managing director and portfolio manager of mortgage-backed securities portfolios.
Morningstar
The investment research provider has announced several appointments. Mark Roomans becomes chief executive of Morningstar UK. He has been with Morningstar for 14 years, most recently as co-chief executive of Morningstar Australasia. Geoff Balzano, chief executive of Morningstar UK since 2007, will focus on his role as head of adviser solutions for the firm in Europe, the Middle East and Africa. Finally, Daniel Needham becomes president and chief investment officer of the Morningstar Investment Management Group.
Howard Kennedy
The law firm has announced two appointments. Charles Maxwell joins as partner in its real estate team from Seddons, where he was a partner. In addition, Leigh Sayliss joins as a partner in its corporate tax team from Stephenson Harwood, where he was an associate.
Arbuthnot Latham & Co
The private banking and wealth management firm has appointed John Hutton-Attenborough as chartered wealth planner in its media and international teams. He joins from Ashcourt Rowan Financial Planning, where he was financial planning director.
JLT Employee Benefits
Sam Leigh has been appointed operations director for change and transformation at the employee benefits provider. She most recently worked at Barclays Bank.
