Volunteering is good for business
The City of London Corporation will today urge businesses to remain active in local London communities despite the potential cost in the middle of the longest and deepest recession since the war. According to Nick Anstee, the Lord Mayor of London, corporate volunteering can boost a firm’s reputation while helping to create a highly-skilled, well motivated workforce and at the same time provide a distinct advantage when it comes to the recruitment and retention of top talent. The City of London Corporation will also release a report today detailing the skills and competencies developed by employees involved in corporate volunteering schemes as well as the financial value accrued by businesses running such schemes.
