US shoppers less confident as consumer sentiment falls in September
Shoppers in the US are less confident when it comes to spending this month. Reuters/Michigan consumer sentiment dropped for September to 77.5, missing predictions of 78.0, below last month's figure of 82.1 and its lowest in five months.
Consumers experienced higher interest rates and a muted economy with squabbles in congress, potential government shutdown and perisisting uncertainty around tapering.
