Unilever to sell trio of haircare brands
Anglo-Dutch company Unilever, announced on Tuesday it will be selling hair care brands- Soft & Beautiful, TCB and Pro-Line Comb-Thru. The brands are to be sold to Strength of Nature for an undisclosed amount. The sale does not include TCB's African business.
President of Unilver North America, said:
Soft & Beautiful, TCB and Pro-Line Comb-Thru are each terrific brands with a long legacy in the ethnic hair care category. These brands are part of one of the fastest growing categories in the personal care sector and we believe their potential can now be more fully realised with Strength of Nature.
The sale adds to the string of brands Unilever has let go. Earlier in the year Unilver sold its global Skippy business to Hormel Foods for $700m (£435m) and offloaded its Wish-Bone US salad dressing business for £375m.
Strength of Nature CEO, Mario de la Guardia, said "We are extremely pleased to add these great brands to our expanding portfolio."
The deal is expected to be concluded by early December.
