UK bosses are most confident in the world
BOSSES of British companies are the most confident in the world, with nine out of ten chief executives confident in their own company’s growth over the next 12 months.
The high level of confidence extend to bosses’ views of the global economy, with six out of ten UK executives believing that the economy will improve over the next year, showing higher levels of confidence than any other country, according to PwC’s Annual Global CEO Survey, launched at Davos yesterday.
“Our 2014 Global CEO Survey shows that UK CEOs are far more optimistic about growth prospects than their peers in developed economies around the world,” said PwC UK chairman and senior partner Ian Powell.
Increasing numbers of chief executives are planning to increase their company’s headcount over the next year, with 65 per cent saying they will compared to 45 per cent in 2013.
“Companies right across the UK are moving beyond the private optimism they’ve been expressing in the boardroom to real activity in the market,” said Powell.
