Top Goldman exec Michael Evans retires
GOLDMAN Sachs’ vice-chairman Michael Evans yesterday revealed he is retiring from the bank after more than 20 years.
He is stepping down at the end of the year and will take up a position as senior director, an advisory role. Evans is currently global head of the bank’s Growth Markets business.
“We particularly appreciate the role Michael played developing our client franchise across Asia, and his work co-chairing the Business Standards Committee, which was an unparalleled effort to review our business standards and practices,” said chief executive and chairman Lloyd Blankfein.
“We are pleased that we will continue to benefit from his advice and counsel as a senior director.”
He joined the bank in 1993 and has headed businesses including equity capital markets and the securities division.
