…As a third of bankers say they would move abroad
TALENTED City workers are increasingly prepared to move abroad to take advantage of rising salaries in emerging markets, with Singapore and Hong Kong seen as top choices, according to a survey by recruiting website eFinancialCareers.com.
The survey of 444 London bankers found that 34 per cent were prepared to move country and that only 12 per cent remain committed to staying with their current employer for the next year. Over half said they definitely intend to move employer.
But firms have noticed their staff’s restlessness: 26 per cent of respondents said that their employer has tried to incentivise them to stay. But only a third of employees said that a counter-offer could persuade them to stay where they are.
