The Observer gets a reprieve
THE Observer has been saved for the time being, with its owners deciding on increasing the integration between it and its daily stable-mate, the Guardian, in preference to a closure of the Sunday title.
Yesterday Guardian News & Media said it had been working on a plan for further editorial integration between the two titles, which would result in further job losses.
The future of The Observer has been under threat since it emerged that the Scott Trust, the paper’s owner, discussed the possibility of its closure earlier this year.
