Seamer Harris takes nine-for
MIDDLESEX seamer James Harris admitted something “clicked” after claiming extraordinary career-best figures of 9-34 to propel his team to a 187-run victory over Durham at Lord’s yesterday.
The 24-year-old Welshman’s onslaught, which included a spell of seven wickets for 21 runs in 8.1 overs, saw the visitors bowled out for 71 in the County Championship Division One match. Harris narrowly missed out on becoming the first man to take 10 wickets in an innings at the home of cricket since 1929.
“It has been a long time coming but I’m really happy,” said Harris.
“I have felt all season I have been bowling nicely and there was still something to click. It probably happened this morning.”
