Saving harder for Londoners
LONDONERS save a smaller share of their salary than any other region in the UK, a Halifax report showed today, as high housing costs and other bills eat away at their relatively high salaries.
Monthly earnings come in at an average of £3,656 in the capital, 32 per cent higher than the UK average.
But the average savings balance comes in at 22 per cent of the average salary in London, compared with an average of 29 per cent across England and Wales.
