Sales up at French Connection
Sales at fashion retailer French Connection rose 3.6 per cent in the first three months of this year, with overall progress boosted by the company’s global wholesale business which performed strongly during the period, with deliveries well ahead of last year. French Connection has recently expanded its international franchise network with store openings in Russia, Turkey and Jordan. Revenue in the UK and Europe retail division fell 1.8 per cent from last year on a like-for-like basis. However sales picked up from the start of the Easter holidays and particularly in the lead up to the Royal Wedding. The group said it remains cautious about the UK retail market in the remainder of the year.
