Regus targets universities and libraries as operating profits soar
Regus said yesterday it planned to bridge the gap between higher education and working life by launching offices in universities and public libraries.
The serviced office provider signed its first deal with Helsinki University last year and has also partnered with the Singapore Government to open facilities within their public libraries.
It is now eyeing further opportunities, including opening in libraries across the UK: “We are opening new interfaces between university life and business life – whether it’s people starting a business, doing meetings, or companies doing milk rounds,” chief executive Mark Dixon said.
It invested £207m last year, opening centres in 452 locations, including travel hubs. It now has 2,269 Regus centres worldwide.
Its investment paid off, with operating profits up 27 per cent to £104.3m and revenues up 15.8 per cent to £1.68bn. Regus plans to spend £120m opening 400 sites this year.
