Recreating the glamour of a desirable postcode
New homes in Kensington and Chelsea hope to woo buyers looking for English courtyards and grand staircases
THE ROYAL borough of Kensington and Chelsea is known the world over for its class and finesse. Even its pensioners are renowned for their grand, military attire. A new development of apartments and penthouses at 375 Kensington High Street is looking to add a touch of new glamour to the old classicism of the borough.
Prospective buyers can now walk around – and imagine living in – its first show apartment, a duplex penthouse. The completion coincides with the first homes to be finished in Wolfe House, a section of the development, which houses 67 one, two, and three bedroom apartments and penthouses.
“This is a real milestone in the development of Kensington, delivering high quality new homes in a thriving location,” says Paul Vallone, chairman of project’s developer St Edward’s. “The apartments combine luxurious materials, the highest levels of design and the latest innovations in technology.”
The luxury apartments at 375 Kensington High Street are just the start of St Edward’s masterplan for Warwick Road, which will create over 1,000 new homes in one of the most high-value per square foot regions of the UK, next to a new public park and a proposed primary school.
Design is integral to the development’s success, according to St Edward’s, and they’ve hired award-winning architect Michael Squire to make sure the building fits into one of London’s most desirable postcodes. His firm, Squire and Partners, is also working on Chelsea Creek nearby, the Bayswater Hotel, and luxury penthouses at upcoming One Tower Bridge. For Kensington High Street, expect a series of buildings set around a landscaped, traditional English courtyard. The interiors also emphasise the grand and the traditional with high ceilings, marble and glass staircases and bespoke fireplaces.
Residents can also expect private access to a spa and leisure suite that boasts a 17 metre indoor swimming pool, as well as massage and treatment rooms, and a concierge from Harrods 24 hours a day.
