Olympic bosses rely on late surge
OLYMPIC chiefs are anticipating a late dash to secure tickets for the London games ahead of today’s midnight deadline for applications.
Bosses, who have confirmed that this will not be the last chance for members of the public to purchase tickets, claim they have been hugely encouraged by recent sales over the Easter period.
“Tickets will be made available again,” said a spokesman for LOCOG. “But the best opportunity to get one is now, and we’d really encourage anyone who wants one to try now.”
LOCOG will be creating an online exchange forum, allowing ticketholders to resell at face value, but the system has drawn criticism from ticketing experts.
“There is a risk that millions of Olympic fans will not get the chance to attend the games and events they want to,” said Joe Cohen of ticket exchange Seatwave.
