Obinna treble fells Forest as Keane signs up
WEST HAM (3) vs NOTTM FOREST (2)
WEST HAM boss Avram Grant had two good reasons to be cheerful after following up an FA Cup victory with the loan signing of Tottenham striker Robbie Keane.
The arrival of Keane until the end of the season was confirmed after Victor Obinna’s hat-trick earned the Hammers a comeback win.
Nigerian Obinna put the home side ahead and then brought them level again, after goals from Nottingham Forest pair Dele Adebola and David McGoldrick.
And he completed his treble with a penalty early in the second half to set up a fifth round tie against Burnley at Upton Park.
Keane was in east London to watch the game and West Ham co-owner David Gold said: “We’re delighted to sign a world-class striker.”
Grant added: “He (Keane) is not just a good player, he is a good character that we need in the next 14 games.”
