New deals for Root and Onions
CRICKET: England batsman Joe Root yesterday signed a contract extension to stay with Yorkshire until 2016. The 23-year-old is currently sidelined with a fractured thumb. Bowler Graham Onions, meanwhile, has signed a new two-year contract with County Champions Durham.
