Neutec trio to face court
A FORMERfinance director and two lawyers involved with the takeover of Neutec Pharma by Swiss rival Novartis are facing a Crown Court trial over eight counts of insider dealing.
Peter Andrew King, Michael McFall and Andrew Rimmington face a total of up to 56 years in prison if found guilty of wrongdoing.
They had contested the charges at a Westminster Magistrates Court hearing yesterday, but District Judge Miss Tubbs told them they would be tried by jury in the criminal court.
The three have been given unconditional bail and will have to appear at Southwark Crown Court on 28 October for a plea hearing.
The case comes as part of a crackdown by the FSA, headed up by the City watchdog’s director of enforcement Margaret Cole. Last week, lawyer Christopher McQuoid had his appeal against an eight month sentence for insider dealing dismissed.
