Murray drops down to No5
TENNIS: British No1 Andy Murray has dropped out of the world’s top four for the first time since August 2008 after losing his place to Argentina’s Juan Martin del Potro.
Murray was overtaken after opting to play in the Hopman Cup with Laura Robson instead of defending his Qatar Open title.
“Seedings don’t make a difference,” said Murray, who is now seeded fifth for this week’s Australian Open. “If you get to the quarter-finals, you have to beat the best players anyway.”
