Murdoch’s girl in Shine retreat
ELISABETH Murdoch, daughter of media mogul Rupert Murdoch, is to step down from the day-to-day running of Shine – the firm she sold to her father’s News Corporation in a £415m deal last year.
Elisabeth, who will continue to hold the role of chairman, will hand over the chief executive role she has held since 2001 to chief operating officer Alex Mahon.
“As Shine further diversifies across genres, geographies and platforms, I believe that the continued growth of the company requires the chairman and chief executive roles to be distinct and separate,” said Murdoch.
