Mourinho eyes full-throttle approach in bid for quadruple
CHELSEA boss Jose Mourinho signalled his intentions to land the quadruple by vowing a full-throttle approach against Championship high-flyers Derby County in the Capital One Cup quarter-final tonight.
Midfielder Cesc Fabregas is available following suspension while Mourinho has confirmed France Under-21 defender Kurt Zouma will replace Gary Cahill, who was accused of diving by Hull manager Steve Bruce on Saturday.
“We’re going to play against a top team in the Championship,” said Mourinho. “The difference between a top team in the Championship and the teams of the Premier League is very, very small. We have no reason to rest people. Everybody goes.”
Former table-toppers Derby are third in the Championship after suffering two defeats in their last three matches, and manager Steve McClaren is refusing to take solace in Chelsea’s record of three defeats in their last four League Cup quarter-final ties.
He said: “At the moment they are the strongest. I can’t see a weakness, we tried to find one and it lasted about five seconds.”
