Miss England glams up Mines and Money day
A BIG week in the world of mining and monies, with the annual Mines and Money black tie awards dinner being held tonight at the HAC Artillery Garden, rounding off a week of industry conferences.
The event is Europe’s largest mining conference, bringing together over 3,000 investors, financiers, brokers and executives for mingling and mineral chat.
Delegates at the sessions today can look forward to talks from Ernst & Young mining and metals advisory partner Lee Downham and managing director of the piratical-sounding Mutiny Gold, John Greeve.
A more surprising attendee comes in the form of Miss England 2012 Charlotte Holmes, who will be announcing the winner of the Trampus Base Metal Price competition.
The beauty queen says she wants to “bring a ray of sunshine into the mining community” and that her favourite metal is aluminium.
The Capitalist wonders if Holmes has thought that last answer through. Always, always go for the gold as a hotter commodity, Charlotte.
