Mayor-raising fault on zipline dismount
WAS it a bird? No, not nearly elegant enough. Was it a plane? Hopefully not, given its speedy path towards Victoria Park. And Superman would never sport a blue hard hat and Union flags.
Boris Johnson’s ungainly descent down a zipwire in east London became an online sensation yesterday when he came to a halt 20m from the end of the line, above a pack of camera-wielding onlookers.
He spent several minutes suspended in his harness, joking that it was “great fun, but it needs to go faster”.
“If any other politician got stuck on a zipwire it would be disastrous. With Boris it’s a triumph,” said David Cameron later, through gritted teeth.
