Keane back with hunger for his Tottenham return
ROBBIE KEANE says he returns to Tottenham with hunger and confidence restored following his successful loan stint at Celtic.
The Republic of Ireland captain scored 16 goals in 19 appearances during his brief four-month spell at Parkhead, where he was also named Player of the Year.
Now, the 29-year-old believes he can reclaim his place in the Spurs starting line-up by rediscovering the kind of form which saw Liverpool part with £20m for his services two years ago.
“I just think I was maybe in a little bit of a rut at Liverpool and going back to Tottenham,” Keane admitted.
“As a player, you lose confidence sometimes and I lost confidence maybe a small bit. But it is important that you try to get that back as soon as possible, and maybe going to Celtic was the best thing to happen to me.
“It’s up to me now to go back to Tottenham and get into that team.”
