Johnson cleans up Jarvis PFI deals
THE PARENT company of Johnsons Dry Cleaning has bought eight contracts from defunct rail maintenance firm Jarvis, including three Public Finance Initiative jobs.
Johnson Services took over the three PFI deals, and agreed with Jarvis’ administrators to manage another five facilities management contracts under licence. The deal will cost Johnson a total of £3m.
The contracts are to provide services including catering, cleaning and maintenance, for specific schools, hospitals and local authorities. The work currently involves 160 staff and turned over £6.5m last year.
Johnson also said in a trading update that sales for the first half of the year have dropped by five per cent, due to severe winter weather.
