I’m a manager not a babysitter, blasts Sherwood
TOTTENHAM boss Tim Sherwood has told his players to prove their worth or risk being surplus to requirements in the summer.
The 45-year-old slammed his players following their 4-0 capitulation at Chelsea on Saturday and expects no repeat tonight in the home leg of their Europa League last-16 clash with Benfica.
Sherwood said: “A lot of players here are playing for their future and I think they realise that now.
“I’m going to have a good look at the whole squad and see who I need to keep and who I need to bring in. I’m a manager not a babysitter.”
Defender Michael Dawson is missing tonight with a hamstring problem, but Danny Rose, Christian Eriksen and Mousa Dembele are all pushing for recalls after injury.
Benfica, runners-up to Chelsea in last year’s competition, have won 18 and drawn two of their last 20 matches in all competitions.
