Henman backs Murray to rise
FORMER British No1 Tim Henman has backed Andy Murray to rise to the challenge of once again competing with powerhouses Novak Djokovic and Roger Federer.
Murray endured a turbulent season and only recorded his first victory over a top-10 ranked player during the quarter-final of the US Open in September when beating Jo-Wilfried Tsonga.
And should Murray wish to replicate his 2013 Wimbledon victory and prove a force at next year’s Majors, Henman insists it is imperative he emulates the best.
Henman, who is backing charity Give It Your Max as part of the Statoil Masters Tennis at the Royal Albert Hall, said: “Djokovic and Federer have raised their levels and it’s amazing they’ve been playing so well, Andy needs to and will respond. That’s the challenge.”
