Front page forex firm CWM FX pulls out of our Long Lunch
While the most diligent City workers may be found buckling down late into Friday evenings, the final day of the working week often sees the rest of us head off early for a few drinks and a chat about the weekend’s sporting fixtures.
It was in this spirit that an array of City folk gathered at Chiswell Street Brewery for the Unibet Long Sporting Lunch hosted by City A.M. and MBN Events on Friday, where stars of the sporting world were on hand to tell tales of past glories (and antics).
Sam Torrance – a columnist for City A.M. – revealed details of champagne-fueled Ryder Cup celebrations, Jason Leonard was intruigingly critical of former England coach Sir Clive Woodward, and ex-Arsenal legend Paul Merson was in typically self-deprecating mood, even managing to poke fun at his troubled history with gambling and addiction.
As ever it was a delight to mingle with guests from the Square Mile, yet The Capitalist was sad to notice that people from CWM FX – the subject of our front-page stories last week – had cancelled their table at late notice. Ah well, there’s always next year…
