French inflation climbs upwards
Inflation in France climbed to a 32-month high of 2.2 per cent in March, according to the harmonised index of consumer prices (HICP). The HICP was up 0.9 per cent from February due to strong price increases in clothing (eight per cent), energy (2.4 per cent) and food (0.9 per cent), the national statistics institute INSEE said yesterday.
