Former underground boss to take helm at FirstGroup
FORMER London Underground boss Tim O’Toole will takeover as chief operating officer of FirstGroup after the bus and rail firm appointed him to the role yesterday.
O’Toole, who will step into the role next week, will also become the group’s deputy chief executive in preparation for the retirement of current boss Sir Moir Lockhead.
It is thought that O’Toole will have an initial salary of £550,000 plus bonuses.
He is widely respected for his time at the helm of London Underground, but also as president of Consolidate Rail Corporation in the US.
The news comes as UK bus, Ireland and Germany director Nicola Shaw is stepping down from FirstGroup’s board.
