Farah admits he may miss out on Commonwealth Games run
DOUBLE Olympic champion Mo Farah has thrown his participation at the Commonwealth Games into doubt after revealing he does not know whether he will be fit to race in Glasgow.
Farah, who had intended to go for a repeat of his London 2012 5,000m and 10,000m double later this month, is behind schedule with his training after being hospitalised by illness a fortnight ago.
“It’s a good question. I don’t know,” the 31-year-old said when asked whether he would be in the England squad. “Hopefully I should be good. I have missed a bit of training, but we’ll make a decision further down the line.”
Farah was admitted to hospital with abdominal pains while training in America and pulled out of a planned run at last weekend’s Diamond League event in Glasgow.
