England chiefs seek sponsor after Brit exits
ENGLISH cricket’s governing body the ECB has begun its search for a new lead sponsor after confirming that Brit Insurance will end its long association with the sport in 2014.
Brit’s logo has appeared on the England team’s shirts since 2010 as part of a deal thought to be worth up to £18m, a period in which the senior side have enjoyed huge success.
The company, which previously sponsored Surrey from 2004 to 2010, has put its decision down to structural and strategic changes. The deal, which expires in April 2014, could be terminated early if all parties agree.
